Cody Williams Announces Candidacy for Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors,
District 2
Cerro Gordo County, IA — Cody Williams, a Democrat, has announced his candidacy for the Cerro Gordo
County Board of Supervisors, District 2, bringing a lifelong commitment to North Iowa,
extensive public-sector experience, and a focus on practical, people-centered governance.
Williams grew up in Titonka and has lived in Cerro Gordo County for nearly 30 years. He
currently resides in rural Cerro Gordo County, outside of Clear Lake, with his wife and children.
His deep roots in the region shape his understanding of both rural and urban needs across the
county.
Williams has been a mental health professional serving Cerro Gordo County since 2009 and is a
long-standing advocate for prevention, healthy families, and strong communities. His work in the
mental health field has given him firsthand insight into the challenges residents face and the
importance of accessible, effective public services.
In addition, for 13 years Williams worked collaboratively with county and state partners to
manage state-to-local funding for Early Childhood initiatives. This role required fiscal
responsibility, transparency, and coordination across multiple levels of government, experience
he says directly prepares him to serve effectively on the Board of Supervisors.
Williams believes Cerro Gordo County would benefit from new perspectives on the Board and
leadership rooted in listening, accountability, and service.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to listen to and learn from the residents of District 2,”
Williams said. “County decisions should be rooted in serving North Iowa and making Cerro
Gordo County the best place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Campaign Priorities

market infrastructure, and expanding reliable broadband access. Rural students, families,
and businesses deserve safe transportation and high-speed internet.
- Government Transparency & Accountability: Williams is committed to open county
government and ensuring residents understand how their tax dollars are spent and how
decisions are made.
-Economic Growth & Jobs: Williams will champion policies that support small
businesses, attract new employers, and promote sustainable economic growth so Cerro
Gordo County continues to thrive.

- Public Health & Safety: Williams prioritizes ensuring first responders have the
resources they need, improving rural healthcare access, and emphasizing prevention to
support healthy families and safe communities across the county.
-Williams will continue meeting with residents throughout District 2 in the coming months to
listen, learn, and share his vision for Cerro Gordo County.
